Last month, a call for expressions of interest was made in an effort to identify potential applicants for SCOSS’s next funding cycle. A total of 38 completed forms were received and are currently under review. Those chosen to submit to the full application process will be notified in December at the latest.

Sixteen institution in Norway, 13 in Sweden, three in the Netherlands and one in New Zealand and Qatar have pledged funding.

The coalition is now preparing for its second funding cycle by placing a call for a show of interest from OS infrastructure service providers — potential SCOSS funding recipients.
Potential applicants are requested to fill out a six-question screening form to determine eligibility before ultimately submitting a full application by 31 October 2018.

UNIT (Direktoratet for IKT og fellestjenester i høyere utdanning og forskning), which represents Norwegian institutes of higher education and research and their libraries, has become the second national consortia to support SCOSS.

ETH Zürich and Universität Bielefeld join a quickly growing list of European funders that includes the National Library of Sweden, Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Ghent University, the National Library of Sweden and Vrije Universiteit Brussels become the network’s first European funders, while Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries, Princeton University and MIT are among the first in the US to join the network.
