SCOSS Funding Cycles in Brief

On an annual basis, SCOSS calls on the Open Science community to financially support, for a period of three years, recommended infrastructure deemed important by SCOSS.

Each year's new funding cycle begins once the evaluation process of the services is complete and the announcement of the selected services is made to the global community. This tends to fall toward the end of the fourth quarter. During the funding cycles, SCOSS, together with the recommended services, are actively seeking funding support from the global community.

While active fundraising is only occurring for 12 months, the nature of the SCOSS funding structure is such that funders that opt in to SCOSS commit to providing financial support to the service/s for a three-year period.
