WE’RE OPEN FOR PLEDGES: SCOSS Launches Round 6
Now in its sixth year, SCOSS is excited to announce the four new Open Science infrastructure partners that will join the SCOSS Family. After careful evaluation, SCOSS has selected the African Journals Online (AJOL), Episciences, Make Data Count, and SciPost for this sixth funding cycle. These organisations are seeking help in both creating and maintaining sustainable futures.
Continued Support for Open Infrastructure from Canada!
Thanks to the generous support of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries (see recent news) we have exceeded the 6 million euro mark of funds raised for SCOSS family infrastructures!
Under a consortial approach administered by CRKN, Canadian research libraries pledged 152,000 Euro for the recently-launched SCOSS 5th funding cycle infrastructures Research Data Alliance (RDA) and Software Heritage.
Swiss institutions renew support for Open infrastructures!
Continuing a tradition of generosity towards Open Science infrastructures, member institutions of the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries have pledged a total of 362,250 euros over the course of the next three years from 2024-2026.

Australian and New Zealand libraries commit to Open Infrastructure
Eleven universities from Australia and New Zealand just made a one-year pledge of 22,275 euros to DOAB/OAPEN, OpenCitations and PKP with the prospect of pledging more next year. We are grateful to the Council of Australian University Librarians CAUL for facilitating this at a difficult time. This pledge demonstrates Australia’s and New Zealand’s commitments to Open Access and Open Science and to supporting important infrastructure in this time of need.
Finnish library consortium makes generous pledge to DOAJ & Sherpa/RoMEO
The FinELib consortium just recently reached a deal with DOAJ and Sherpa/RoMEO to help support them, pledging a total of 162,000 euros. Sixteen Higher Education institutions pay towards helping reach both infrastructure funding targets, bringing the DOAJ target to 99%!
