The French National Open Science Fund (FNSO) is providing financial support to four international infrastructures selected by SCOSS as part of its funding campaigns. After the support provided in 2020 and 2022, France thus renews its commitment to sustainable international infrastructures for open science.
The four supported infrastructures (LA Referencia, ROR – Research organization registry, OpenCitations and DOAB – Directory of open access books) were evaluated by the jury composed by SCOSS, then against the criteria of principles and best practices of the French Open Science Committee, which guarantee in particular transparency and participation of scientific communities in their governance. The FNSO also took into consideration the French footprint of the selected infrastructures and their convergence with the strategic orientations of the National Plan for Open Science.
The overall amount of financial support is 385,000 euros.
- For LA Referencia and ROR, it is a funding of 50 000 euros in 2023 for each of the infrastructures – in the framework of the fourth call for funding of SCOSS.
- For OpenCitations and DOAB, the funding will be recurrent for 2023, 2024 and 2025 and will amount to 75,000 and 20,000 euros annually respectively.
Thank you for your commitment, France!
